CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – With 11 victories in its first 12 League matches, Colgate has wrapped up not only a playoff berth but also hosting duties for the 2012 Patriot League Volleyball Tournament, set for Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 17-18. The four-team field will play out at Colgate’s Cotterell Court in Hamilton, N.Y.

The Raiders are hosting the field for the first time since 1996, when the current four-team format was first utilized.

American and Army also clinched berths over the weekend. The fourth and final bid will come down to either Lehigh or Navy in the final weekend of regular-season play next week.

Colgate owns the edge in all tiebreakers, thus giving it the top overall seed. The Raiders get the better of American and Army in a potential three-way tie. Ultimately, it’s Colgate’s season sweep of the Black Knights that gives it the advantage.

The Mountain Hawks have the edge with a 7-5 League record, while Navy is 6-6.

The Raiders have qualified for their sixth straight League tournament. Colgate was the No. 3 seed in the first four years of the current run, while earning the fourth seed in 2011.
