HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate University volleyball team continued its streak of bad luck with a 3-0 loss to Lafayette on Friday, Oct. 29, at Cotterell Court. The Raiders (4-15, 1-8 Patriot League) have won just one match in their last 14 contests, a victory against the Leopards (12-10, 4-5 PL) on Oct. 2.

Junior tri-captain Allie Nichols (Sacramento, Calif.) led Colgate with a double-double on 20 assists and 16 kills on a career-high 48 attempts, along with nine digs and four blocks, including one solo stop. Senior tri-captain Laurel Oliver (Watertown, N.Y.) hit .357 on 14 kills and 28 attempts. Freshman Nicole Notrica (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) recorded 16 assists and four digs, and senior libero Natalie Rawson (Palmdale, Calif.) finished with a match-high 16 digs.

Veronica Canto-Ponce led Lafayette with 13 kills on 29 attempts and eight digs. Maura Kelly hit .450 on 12 kills and 20 attempts. Michaela Donohue finished with eight kills and 11 digs, while libero Lauren Dalsky posted 11 digs. Meagan Martino hit .350 on nine kills and 20 attempts with just two errors. Heidi Olichwier set up 39 assists and added three aces and seven digs.

Colgate will try to reverse its fortunes against Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 7:00 p.m. Trick-or-treating on Broad Street will begin at 6:00 p.m., and a costume contest will be held between the second and third games of the match. Prizes will be awarded for the best three costumes. In addition, volleyball player trading cards will be distributed. Admission to all Raider volleyball matches is free.
