Holy Cross Outlasts Colgate In A Marathon Volleyball Match

Worcester, MA- Holy Cross defeated Patriot League opponent Colgate 3-2 (30-21, 30-21, 15-30, 22-30, 26-24) tonight at the Hart Center. The Crusaders jump to 3-6 in the Patriot League while the Raider drop to 2-7 in league play.

The Crusaders took games one and two, but the Raiders came back to take games three and four to force a game five.

Freshman Valerie Mora (San Antonia, TX) led the Crusaders with 20 kills, 1 service ace and 23 digs. Caitline Agostinacchio (Bellmore, NY) added 16 kills and 29 digs. Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, NY) contributed 10 kills in the win.

Michelle Leahy (Andover, Mass.) continued her success, adding 47 assists along with 22 digs and 3 kills for the Crusaders.

The Raiders were led by the offense of Laurel Oliver with 20 kills and Allie Nichols with 16 kills. Game five was a hard fought game, with both teams battling for the final game point. The Crusaders managed to come out on top and take their third Patriot League victory for the season.

The Crusaders travel to American Friday October 31st. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
