Navy's Rachel Dougherty was named the ECAC Co-Player of the Week on Wednesday, giving the Patriot League that honor for the third time this season. Dougherty was also named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Monday.
Dougherty averaged 5.88 kills per game and hit .418 with five aces and five blocks in a 3-0 week for the Midshipmen. In two Patriot League contests, the Derwood, Md., native averaged 6.00 kills (36 kills over two 3-0 wins). Against League opponent Lafayette, she recorded 19 kills for a career-high total in a three-game match. The senior outside hitter has reached double-digit kills in 11-straight contests. She has been tabbed Patriot League Player of the Week the last two weeks.
Other Patriot League ECAC Player of the Week winners this season were American's Rubena Sukaj (Sept. 27) and Bucknell's Jenna Henderson (Sept. 13).
All eight Patriot League teams kick off the season half of the League schedule this weekend. Four matches will take place on Friday night and four on Saturday.
