Annapolis, MD- Lehigh (9-7, 1-1) continued its road trip through the Patriot League, beating Navy (4-7, 1-1) Saturday night 3-0. Navy kept it close the entire way, but the Mountain Hawks used a great team effort to come up with their first Patriot League win of the season.

After winning the first game 30-26, Lehigh and Navy played a tense and exciting second game that saw many lead changes between the two schools. In the end, Lehigh was able to eek out a 33-31 victory that broke Navy's spirit, as they won the third game easily 30-23.

Head coach Patrick Nicholas said the victory was the result of the entire team's effort. "We served well, we blocked well, we played good defense and offense," said Nicholas. "We just got a great all-around effort from our hitters. Navy is a tough place to play, and it was huge for us to be able to go in there and get a win."

Senior Jeanette Singleton reached double digits in kills for the third straight match, leading the team with 13 on the night. Michelle Schwendenmann reached double figures as well, with 10 kills. Allison Jack, the Patriot League's leader in assists, did nothing to change that, putting up 39 assists in just three games.

The Mountain Hawks will remain on the road for their next two Patriot League contests. First up will be Bucknell on Friday night. That match can be heard live on Lehigh's website at www.lehigh.edu. Game time is set for 7:00.
