LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell volleyball head coach Cindy Opalski announced the recent addition of Caitlin Rimgaila to her coaching staff on Friday. A 2007 graduate of St. John's and All-BIG EAST selection with the Red Storm, Rimgaila joins the Bison having coached most recently at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, Pa., where she led the squad to a top-10 state ranking.

As a student-athlete at St. John's, Rimgaila captained the Red Storm to an undefeated conference run in 2006. The same year, the team achieved a top 25 national ranking for the first time in program history and she was named Second Team All-BIG EAST.

Off the court, Rimgaila was named the 2006 BIG EAST/Aeropostale Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was also a three-time selection to the BIG EAST Academic All-Star and the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society for student-athletes. She capped off her career with a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection as a senior. She also co-founded STAR (Students Teaching Athletes Responsibility) at St. John's.

Since graduating with a degree in communication science and with a minor in business administration, Rimgaila has served as head coach at Pope John Paul II and with the Synergy Volleyball Club and Philadelphia Volleyball Academy. Her coaching experience also includes stints as an assistant at The Agnes Irwin School (Pa.) and SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology.

Most recently Rimgaila worked as a public relations account manager at Diccicco Battista Communications.

Bucknell will begin its 2012 season Aug. 25-26 when it heads to Philadelphia for the La Salle Invitational. The Bison kick things off with a doubleheader against the host La Salle (11 a.m.) and Manhattan (5 p.m.) on the first day of play. After hosting its annual tournament Sept. 14-15 at Davis Gym against Fordham, Providence and Quinnipiac, Bucknell will turn its attention to the start of Patriot League play on Sept. 21 when it travels to Lafayette.
