2012 Patriot League Volleyball Academic Honor Roll Get Acrobat Reader

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Army sophomore Mary Vaccaro, the 2012 Patriot League Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, heads up a list of 71 student-athletes named to this year’s Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Vaccaro, a kinesiology major at the U.S. Military Academy, posted a 3.587 grade-point average during the fall semester.

Navy junior Erin Fortner had an exceptionally strong fall, as she logged a perfect 4.0 GPA during the term. Fortner is an honors oceanography major at the U.S. Naval Academy.

In addition, all seven members of the Academic All-Patriot League team for volleyball announced in the fall also claimed Academic Honor Roll recognition.

Lehigh led the 2012 list with 13 selections, followed by American and Bucknell, which placed 11 apiece. Colgate, Lafayette and Navy followed with eight each, while Army placed seven and Holy Cross five.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport’s competition.
