Patriot League Volleyball Academic Honor Roll Get Acrobat Reader

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Bucknell led the way as the nine Patriot League volleyball teams combined to place 89 student-athletes on the sport's Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the fall semester.

The Bison had a League-high 19 honorees on the list, followed by Lafayette and Loyola University Maryland with 12 apiece. Lehigh (11) and American (10) also had double-digit representation.

Each of the seven student-athletes named to the Volleyball Academic All-Patriot League squad also received a spot on the Academic Honor Roll, including American junior Business Administration major and 2013 Patriot League Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year Monika Smidova. Nine of the 14 All-Patriot League selections were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Army freshman Alexandra Bell (Undeclared) led all student-athletes with a 4.193 grade-point average in the fall, while Bucknell senior Jessica Serrato (Management), Colgate junior Kenzie Hume (Mathematical Economics), Lehigh freshman Morgan Lowe (Business) and Loyola senior Samantha Reeves (Business Marketing) each achieved a 4.00 GPA in the fall. Serrato was one of five student-athletes to make the Academic Honor Roll in all four of her seasons, along with teammate Leylin Marroquin, Lehigh's Amanda Clark and Dana Raber and Navy's Erin Fortner.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
