It was a lighter than normal week in Patriot League Volleyball with most teams playing just one match during the period. As a result, there wasn't much that changed in either the League standings or in the season's overarching storylines to this point. Whomever was going to win Friday's American-Army match knew it wasn't going to be easy. It certainly wasn't, but in the end it was American that was able to rally from down 2-1 to take a thrilling five-set victory against the Black Knights on the road in the first meeting of the regular season between the two most recent League champions.Read More [+]

The two teams that have been near the top of the Patriot League standings in recent years have once again jumped out to quick starts. Both American and Army jumped began their League seasons 2-0 after a pair of victories last week. The Eagles, who have now won three in a row overall, posted home wins of 3-0 over Bucknell and 3-1 versus Colgate, while Army went on the road to capture a four-set win at Lehigh and a 3-0 sweep at Lafayette.Read More [+]
