A year ago, Erin Fleming of Townsend finished up a brilliant career as a student-athlete at Lawrence Academy and decided to attend Holy Cross College. After starring on soccer, basketball and softball teams in Groton she headed to Worcester to tackle the challenges at the next level.

Erin recently completed her freshman year at Holy Cross and the pre-med major has made a seamless transition. She was recently selected to the Patriot League second team all-star team and became a future building block under the guidance of first-year softball coach Brian Claypool.

"Erin did an amazing job for us," said Claypool. "You know she's special with her combination of size and strength. I won't say she was a big surprise because after we saw her we knew she could have that type of season."
