If the NCAA needs a poster child for a true student-athlete, Jen Colquhoun (Oak Park) would be a perfect selection.
The Lehigh senior shortstop received just about every athletic and academic award possible this season while helping the Mountain Hawks capture the Patriot League softball title.
Colquhoun was named Patriot League Player of the Year after batting .440 with a school single-season record-tying 13 home runs.
She led the league in runs scored (50), triples (6) and home runs while tying for the league lead in RBIs (48).
"The numbers don't tell the entire story," Colquhoun said. "I definitely have a lot of support from my team. Those numbers are not about just me working by myself."
But her performance in the classroom was completely self-attained and equally as impressive.
