Sophomore pitcher Melissa Robinson and freshman shortstop Kristen Berger have been selected to the Patriot League Softball All-Tournament Team.
Robinson, who was an All-Patriot League selection during the season, pitched all three of the Leopards' games in the conference tournament on May 10-11. She handed Lafayette a 2-1 victory over Colgate in the second round, knocking the Raiders from the tournament. She threw all eight innings in that 2-1decision, striking out six while allowing a run on five hits.
Robinson finished the season with a 2.65 ERA and 13 victories, the second most in a season at Lafayette. She struck out 102 batters, the fifth most in a season. In terms of career numbers, Robinson is eighth in wins (19), sixth in strikeouts (145) and fifth in ERA (2.71).
Berger started every one of Lafayette's 54 games in 2012. Against Colgate in the Patriot League Tournament, she doubled to lead off the game as Lafayette took a 1-0 and eventually won 2-1 in eight innings. She added another hit in the fifth.
For the season, Berger improved steadily, finishing with a .281 batting average (second best on the team) from the lead-off spot in the order. She hit for a .328 clip in Lafayette's 20 Patriot League games and helped guide the Leopards to their first conference tournament appearance since 2009.
