WEST POINT, N.Y. -
Army senior center fielder Reanna Johnson's performance last week earned her Patriot League Player of the Week softball honors for the second time this season after earning that award in the conference's first release of the season. Johnson is one of five Black Knights to earn this weekly honor as Army collected six of the 11 certificates handed out.
Army closed out its regular-season schedule last week splitting a non-league doubleheader with Marist. In the Black Knights' 6-4 come-from-behind win over the Red Foxes, Johnson (1-for-3) drove in a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to snap a 4-4 tie as the Black Knights completed the comeback from an early 4-0 deficit.
Army (35-19, 14-6 PL) returns to action Thursday, May 10, when the second-seeded Black Knights host third-seeded Colgate at 2:30 p.m. in an opening round game of the Patriot League Tournament being played at Kaufman Field on the campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. The top-seeded Mountain Hawks take on fourth-seeded Lafayette in the opening game at 12 p.m.
The double-elimination tournament continues Friday with the winners' game at 11 a.m. followed by the losers' game at 1:30 p.m. The final game of the day will be played at 4 p.m. between the winner of Game 4 taking on the Loser of Game 3. The tournament concludes Saturday at 12 p.m. with a second game if necessary scheduled for 2 p.m.
