In the latest NCAA national rankings, Army's softball team lists 36th in hitting with a .300 batting average, and has four players among the nation's individual leaders in senior Alexis AuBuchon, sophomores Amanda Nguyen and April Ortenzo, and freshman Morgan Lashley.
Nguyen stands eighth in sacrifice hits per game (0.34) with Lashleyranking ninth in wins (22) after setting an Army single-season school record over the weekend. Ortenzo lists 36th in doubles per game (0.34) and AuBuchon stands 50th batting (.411).
The Black Knights (26-15) list 71st in win percentage, 83rd in doubles per game (1.22) and 86th in scoring (4.61).
Army's 26 wins are just seven off the school record 33 set in 2010. The Black Knights have 11 regular-season games remaining starting with a non-conference tilt with Iona Tuesday followed by a four-game Patriot League series with Lafayette this weekend. Army is 9-3 in the league and tied with Colgate for second place.
