McClain's Leadership Has Caught On
The throw was in the dirt, the runner bearing down, but Erin McClain has a job to do, which at the moment was blocking the plate. The runner was out. And soon, thereafter, was McClain. A cleat to the thigh and a hyperextended knee eventually took her out of the game. The real pain was missing the next four games, but she's back. And when the Patriot League softball tournament starts next Thursday, that'll be McClain behind the plate. MORE [+]

Black Knights' DePolo Obsessive, But Not Repulsive
It started getting weird early. Michelle DePolo was in her first season as an assistant softball coach at Army. It was just past 10 p.m. and she was still hitting fly balls to all those players who were interested in a little extra work. DePolo got a call from then-head coach Jim Flowers, who said that the lights were supposed to be out by 10 p.m., meaning the military police had been called. MORE [+]

A few years ago Canton's Nicole and Natalie Siedhof terrorized NTL softball pitchers. Now pitchers in the Patriot League are finding out what people around here already know.
