Center Valley, Pa. - Navy senior goalkeeper Lizzie Barnes, a finalist for the 2008 Women's Soccer Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, was named to the First-Team All-Senior All-America Team, it was announced on Friday. The All-Senior All-America Team is based on the cumulative results of NCAA Division I coaches and national media and fan balloting for the award, which honors the attributes of senior student-athletes in the classroom, community, character and competition.
Joining Barnes on the All-Senior All-America First Team are: 2008 Women's Soccer Lowe's Senior CLASS Award winner Kerri Hanks of Notre Dame; Yael Averbuch of North Carolina; Jenae Gibbens of California State University, Fullerton and Brittany Bock of Notre Dame.
Second-Team recipients include: Christie McDonald of Duke University; Yolanda Odenyo of Oklahoma State University; Candace Gonzales of Georgia State University; Molly Johnson of Clemson University and Stefanie Baduria of Loyola Marymount University.
Barnes previously won the 2008 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year awards.
