Center Valley, Pa.- With a 1-0 win over Colgate in the last regular-season game on Saturday, defending Patriot League Women's Soccer champion Navy earned the right to play for a third straight title on its home field by clinching the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Women's Soccer Championship, which begins on Friday. The Mids received the No. 1 seed in the field with 17 points, followed by Bucknell as the No. 2 seed with 15 points, Army as the No. 3 seed with 14 points and Colgate playing as the No.4 seed in the field with 12 points. Student-athletes from Holy Cross, Navy and Lehigh all won Patriot League BRINE Player of the Week awards.

BRINE Offensive Player of the Week
Casey Boland, Holy Cross Sr., M Langhorne, Pa.
Boland had a hand in all four goals scored in the Crusaders' 4-0 victory over Patriot League opponent Lafayette, scoring three goals and assisting on the fourth. Boland finished her career at Holy Cross ninth on the program's career goals and points lists.
BRINE Defensive Player of the Week
Julie Reynolds, Navy Sr., M/D Sherman, Conn.
Reynolds headed in a free kick in the 15th minute for the eventual game-winner, helping Navy to clinch the top seed in the Patriot League Tournament with a 1-0 win at Colgate. Reynolds is now the 20th Navy player to record a point this season and the seventh to record a game-winner.
BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week
Lizzie Barnes, Navy Sr., GK New Orleans, La.
Barnes made three saves to keep Colgate off the scoreboard and help the Mids take the top seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The 1-0 win was Barnes' seventh shutout of the season and 28th of her career. The senior keeper has helped the Mids prodcue a Patriot League-high 12 shutouts this season.
BRINE Rookie of the Week
Jana Basubas, Lehigh Fr., M Canyon Lake, Calif.
Basubas scored the second goal in Lehigh's 2-0 win over Army, making Lehigh the first team to score against the Black Knights in Patriot League play. The goal was Basubas' first of the season. The freshman finished the season tied for third on the team with three points.

Navy Earns Top Seed In Patriot League Tournament
With a 1-0 win over Colgate in the last regular-season game on Saturday, defending Patriot League Women's Soccer champion Navy earned the right to play for a third straight title on its home field by clinching the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Women's Soccer Championship, which begins on Friday. The field was set earlier in the day, with Bucknell posting a 2-1 victory at home against American to clinch a berth and knock the Eagles out of the playoff picture. That victory also put Colgate in the Tournament, along with Army and Navy who had clinched their spots last week.
The Mids received the No. 1 seed in the field with 17 points, followed by Bucknell as the No. 2 seed with 15 points, Army as the No. 3 with 14 points and Colgate playing as the No. 4 seed in the field with 12 points. No. 1 seed Navy will host No. 4 Colgate in the 4 p.m. semifinal game on Friday, with No. 2 Bucknell taking on No. 3 Army in the 7 p.m game. The winners of the semifinal contests meet in Sunday's Championship tilt at 1 p.m.
Gabarra Wins 200th Game At Navy
Navy's 1-0 victory over Colgate marked the 200th career victory for Navy Head Coach Carin Gabarra with the program. Earlier this season, Gabarra won her 200th overall career game, which placed her in a group of 28 active head coaches with 200 career wins. The win was also the 200th for the Navy program.
Navy's Barnes Named Lowe's Senior CLASS Award Finalist
Navy's Lizzie Barnes is one of 10 finalists in the women's soccer division for the 2008 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Barnes' name has been placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote that began Oct. 16 and will conclude Nov. 19. Votes from coaches and media will be coupled with fan balloting to determine the recipient of the award. Fans can vote online during this time period at www.seniorclassaward.com. The winner will be announced during the NCAA Championship, December 5-7 in Cary, N.C.
Patriot League Tournament
The 2008 Patriot League Tournament will be held Friday and Sunday, November 7 and 9 at Navy. No. 1 seed Navy will face No. 4 seed Colgate in the first semifinal game on Friday, while No. 2 seed Bucknell wil face No. 3 seed Army in the nightcap.
Team Notebooks
American The Eagles lost 2-1 to Bucknell on Saturday, and ended their season with an overall record of 5-10-4 and 2-2-3 in Patriot League play.
Army The Black Knights lost their final regular season game of the season 2-0 to visiting Lehigh. The loss was the first since Sept. 21. Army closed out the regular season 11-5-1 overall and 4-1-2 in the Patriot League. Army is the No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, and will face Bucknell in the semifinals.
Bucknell Bucknell beat American 2-1 on Saturday, securing a berth and the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The Bison have now qualified for the postseason in all four seasons under Head Coach Ben Landis. Bucknell finished the regular season 11-6-2 overall and 5-2 in Patriot League play. The Bison will face Army in the semifinals of the tournament.
Colgate The Raiders ended the regular season with a 1-0 loss to Navy in the final game of Patriot League play. The Raiders finished the season 7-10-1 overall and 4-3-0 in Patriot League play, securing the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The Raiders will face No. 1 seed Navy in the semifinals.
Holy Cross The Crusaders ended their season on a good note, beating Lafayette 4-0 in their final home game. Holy Cross ended the season 4-14-1 overall and 2-4-1 in Patriot League action.
Lafayette Lafayette lost its final game of the season 4-0 to Holy Cross last weekend. The Leopards finished the season 2-14-2 overall and 0-7-0 in Patriot League play.
Lehigh The Mountain Hawks upset Army 2-0 in their final regular season game. Lehigh was the first team to score on the Black Knights and snapped Army's unbeaten streak at eight games. The Mountain Hawks finished the regular season 6-10-1 overall and 2-5-0 in the Patriot League.
Navy The Mids secured the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Colgate. Navy finished Patriot League play unbeaten (5-0-2) for just the third time in program history. The Mids will host the tournament and face No. 4 seed Colgate in the first semifinal game.
