Alyssa Manoogian admits she felt invincible when she played soccer for Peabody High.
She would see other players go down with injuries and while she thought it was unfortunate, it never affected the way she played.
Manoogian was healthy, strong and extremely talented. So talented that she was offered a scholarship to Division 1 Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., even before she began her senior year of high school.
Life went smoothly for Manoogian until Aug. 5, 2008. That's when she ripped up her knee, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in the last two minutes of Peabody's final summer basketball league game.
