Center Valley, Pa.- Bucknell is tied for 10th in the NSCAA/adidas Middle Atlantic Regional Rankings through September 2. The Bison share the spot with James Madison after going 2-1-1 through September 2. The Black Knigts' 4-1 start is its best since the 2005 season, partly due to the impressive play of the Army freshmen. The plebes have scored three of four game-winners and five of eight goals for Army this season. Student-athletes from American, Army and Navy all won BRINE Player of the Week accolades.

BRINE Offensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Brasher, American Jr., F Hagerstown, Md.
Brasher scored three goals this week in a pair of games, including the game-winner against Mount St. Mary's as well as the Eagles' lone goal in a 1-1 tie with ACC opponent Maryland. Brasher leads the team with four goals this season.
BRINE Defensive Player of the Week
Erin Stebbins, American Jr., D/M Huntington Station, N.Y.
Stebbins was credited with an assist to Brasher's goal in the Friday tie with Maryland. Stebbins helped lead the Eagles defense to a shutout of Mount St. Mary's and held Maryland to just one goal.
BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week
Lizzie Barnes, Navy Sr., GK New Orleans, La.
Barnes made 10 saves and allowed just one goal in 200 total minutes of action over the weekend. On Sunday against Central Connecticut St., Barnes made seven saves, including two in overtime. It was her first shutout of the season and the 22nd of her career, tying Kim Bonafede for the all-time Navy record.
BRINE Rookie of the Week
Deanna Clegg, Army Fr., F Canyon Country, Calif.
Clegg was named MVP of the Toys for Tots Tournament this weekend. Clegg scored the game-winning goal against Missouri State in Friday's win, and was one of two Army players to get off six shots as Army outshot Missouri State 22-10.

Army Off To Fast Start
The Black Knights' 4-1 start is its best start since the 2005 season, partly due to the impressive play of the Army freshmen. The plebes have scored three of four game-winners and five of eight goals for Army this season. This season is also the first time that Army has posted back-to-back shutouts and is the most goals (8) to start off the season since 2005. Three Army players earned their second consecutive tournament honors, as Elizabeth Betterbed, Deanna Clegg and Julia Stallard all made the Toys for Tots All-Tournament Team. The three also earned the same honors in Labor Day weekend's Army BAE Systems Classic.
2008 Patriot League Preseason Poll
The United States Naval Academy was chosen to win the Patriot League championship in a vote by head coaches and sports information directors in the Women's Preseason Soccer Poll. Navy received four first-place votes and 88 overall points. Following closely behind the Mids is Bucknell with 86 overall points and eight first-place votes. Colgate garnered one first-place vote and 72 overall points, while American claimed the fourth spot with 70 overall points and three first-place votes. Lehigh (49), Army (42), Holy Cross (23) and Lafayette (18) round out the poll.
Patriot League Tournament
The 2008 Patriot League Tournament will be held Friday and Sunday, November 7 and 9 at the site of the highest seed. The teams with the top four regular-season records will qualify for the Patriot League tourney.
Team Notebooks
American beat Mount St. Mary's 3-0 and tied ACC foe Maryland 1-1 this weekend. The Eagles will rest up for a few days, as their next opponent Towson does not come to town until Sunday.
Army captured the Toys for Tots Classic hosted by St. Louis University for the first time since the inaugural year in 1997. The Black Knights had five players make the All-Tournament Team: Ashleigh Sheets, Deanna Clegg, Dymon Washington, Julia Stallard and Elizabeth Betterbed.
In Bucknell's only action of the week, the Bison dropped a hard-fought 4-2 decision at No. 19 Penn State this weekend. It was only the second time in 13 all-time meetings with Penn State that the Bison recorded multiple goals.
Colgate's Josie Johnson notched her second goal of the year in the Raiders' 4-1 loss to Washington. The Raiders were shut out by No. 8 Portland 6-0, completing their West Coast swing. Colgate takes on St. Francis (Pa.) and Syracuse on the road this weekend.
Holy Cross is still looking for its first win of the season after losing 2-0 to Binghamton on Sunday. The Crusaders look to bounce back with a win at Central Connecticut on Friday.
Lafayette was shut out by Monmouth 4-0 on Friday and tied Wagner 1-1 at home on Sunday. The Leopards will hit the road on Friday for a match with Manhattan before returning to Easton on Sunday for an afternoon game against Long Island.
Lehigh finished the week with a record of 1-2-1. The Mountain Hawks tied Davidson 2-2 and lost to College of Charleston 1-0 in the Davidson Tournament this weekend. Lehigh looks to rebound next weekend with road games at St. Joseph's and Cornell.
Navy's visitor Winthrop's 87th minute tally was the lone goal in Navy's 1-0 setback Friday. The loss snapped the Midshipmen's 11-game home unbeaten streak (10-0-1), dating back to the beginning of the 2006 season.
