CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy senior defender Jade Seabrook earned a pair of pre-season honors earlier this month when she was named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-America first team and was added to the Hermann Trophy Watch List for 2014.

The St. Paris, Ohio native is one of 35 women's soccer players from around the nation to be named to the Missouri Athletic Club's Watch List for 2014. The Hermann Trophy is the highest individual award in intercollegiate soccer and is the official NSCAA Player of the Year award in Division I. The winners will be announced Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the trophy presentation banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

Seabrook is a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American. She helped anchor Navy's backline as one of the best in the nation in 2013, holding opponents to a .566 goals-against average, which was 12th best in the country. She also guided the Mids to 14 shutouts in 21 games for the seventh-highest shutout percentage (.667) in Division I.

Seabrook is the third different Naval Academy women's soccer player to be named to the watch list and only player in program history to be placed on the watch list twice. Navy's Hoerner (2013) and Lizzie Barnes (2007), both goalkeepers, were also named to the preseason watch list.
