CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - American's Jenna Stasiewicz, the 2011 Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 116 women's soccer student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Stasiewicz, a senior public communications major from Nesconset, N.Y., posted a 3.74 grade-point average in the fall.
Seven student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs in the fall semester. Bucknell led with three claiming 4.0s during the season, including senior economics major Tara Cort, junior management major Meghan Fitzpatrick and junior psychology major Emily Trosch. Also logging 4.0 GPAs in the fall were American senior business administration major Allison Slattery, senior visual arts major Lauren Wright of Holy Cross, Lafayette's Meredith McCann, a senior studying policy studies and economics and business, and undeclared Navy freshman Sam Lee.
Ten of the 11 student-athletes who garnered Academic All-League honors in November were named to the Academic Honor Roll for the fall.
American claimed a League-best 22 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll, ahead of second-place Bucknell, which placed 20. Lafayette placed 18 on the list, while Holy Cross and Lehigh boasted 17 selections apiece.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's competition.
