PRINCETON, N.J. -- Navy's women's crew team closed its fall varsity season by placing 17th at the Princeton Chase, Sunday afternoon on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.

Navy's top boat completed the three-mile course in a time of 17:28 to place 17th in the field of 46. Navy's other entries placed 40th and 41st.

"I am not disappointed in how we ended up, but it could have been better," said Navy women's head coach Mike Hughes. "We finished ahead of all the teams we have already beaten this fall, so we didn't lose any ground to anyone."

Navy concluded a successful fall season that included winning the Navy Day Regatta, placing second at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta and in the top half at the Head of the Charles Regatta.

"I feel we had an excellent fall of rowing," said Hughes. "With the speed we were able to generate this fall, I am excited about the possibilities for us in the spring."
