Hornickel honored as CRCA National Scholar-Athlete
May 24, 2005 Junior Jane Hornickel (Medina, Ohio) of the Colgate University women's crew team was honored by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association as a 2005 National Scholar Athlete on Monday, May 23. She was one of 142 student-athletes from 49 schools around the country to receive the award. Hornickel, a two-year letterwinner with the Raiders, earned the team's Most Improved Award in 2004. She is one of 25 athletes from the Mid-Atlantic region to be honored by the CRCA. The National Scholar Athlete award recognizes upperclassmen who achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and compete in 75 percent of their team's 2005 spring races.
