2008 Patriot League Rowing Championship Page
Center Valley, Pa. - The Patriot League announced the date and location of the 2008 Patriot League Rowing Championship. This year's championship will take place on Sunday, April 27 on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J. It will be run in conjunction with The William & Sarah Cooper Cup.
After spending three years in Worcester, Mass., the Patriot League Rowing Championship will move to the Garden State for the fourth annual running of the event. The Patriot League began sponsoring women's rowing during the 2004-05 championship season.
The Patriot League Rowing Championship will consist of three events - Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight. The team's finishes in each of these events will determine the winner of the championship. The first-place boat in the Varsity Eight race will be deemed the Patriot League Boat of the Year.
The Patriot League rowing membership is comprised of five teams, including Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lehigh and Navy.
Bucknell has won the event the last two years, while Navy was the inaugural champion.
