Center Valley, Pa. - Recent graduates Amanda Towey (Navy) and Lindsay Pittard (Colgate) will represent the Patriot League in the Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game as part of the IWLCA Champions' Cup held on Saturday at the United States Training Center in Downington, Pa. Towey will play on the South team, while Pittard is on the North squad.
Players were nominated by their coaches and selected based on the athletic contributions made over the course of their collegiate careers.
Towey served as Navy's team captain during its inaugural Division I campaign, leading the Mids to an NCAA record for wins by a first-year program with 13. The Smithtown, N.Y., native was the primary table-setter for the nation's second-ranked scoring offense, pacing the Navy women with 33 assists, the 16th best total in the country and the third highest mark in Patriot League history. She finished third on the team with 58 points (25 g, 33 a) and 29 ground balls, and was one of three Mids to have recorded a point in each of the team's 17 contests.
Pittard helped lead Colgate to the Patriot League Championship, and a victory over Marist in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Play-In Game. She finished fifth on the team with 41 points, placing third on the squad with 34 goals to go along with seven assists. Pittard led the Raiders with three game-winning goals, and scored a pair in Colgate's victory over American in the Patriot League Championship.
Towey and Pittard are part of 43 student-athletes comprising the two rosters in the Division I matchup, highlighted by 12 All-Americans and a pair of Tewaaraton Trophy finalists.
