Washington, D.C. - The championship game participants are set for the 2008 Patriot League Women's Lacrosse championship game. No. 1 seed and host American will aim for their first title since 2003 on Sunday afternoon against No. 2 seed Colgate, who will look to win their first title since 2005. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at the William I. Jacobs Complex in Washington, D.C.

The Eagles advanced to the championship game thanks to a late-game rally that saw them score the final six goals of the game after trailing No. 4 seed Navy 15-10 with just under ten minutes remaining to pull out a 17-15 victory. First-Team All-Patriot League selections Jackie Lane, Lauren Aksionoff and Brittany Finnegan each recorded a team-high three goals for American. Navy was led by freshman Meg Decker, who scored a game-high six goals in defeat.

The Raiders scored a Patriot League Tournament record 22 goals en route to a 22-12 victory over No. 3 Lehigh. Sophomore Meghan Lawler was on fire for Colgate, as she recorded a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists. Sophomore Brie Moran and senior Lindsay Pittard also joined Lawler in tallying four goals during the game. The Mountain Hawks were led by sophomore Inneke Carmola and freshman Lauren Dykstra, who each scored three goals in the loss.

The Eagles and Raiders will meet in our Nation's Capitol for the second time in the past two weeks for the championship game. In the previous meeting, American defeated Colgate by a score of 13-10.
