The Patriot League announced its weekly award winners for women's lacrosse on Monday, and Colgate's Katie McVeigh (Offensive), Holy Cross' Megan Orr (Defensive) and Lehigh's Christy Smith (Rookie) were the recipients. The postseason picture will come into focus this week, as Colgate and Holy Cross meet for the regular season title, and Lehigh and Bucknell try to wrap up the final spot in the Patriot League Tournament.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie McVeigh
Colgate -- Jr., M

McVeigh is the Offensive Player of the Week in the Patriot League for the second time this season. The junior midfielder from Basking Ridge, N.J., led Colgate to a key 13-8 win over American by contributing four goals, one assist, one groundball and four draw controls. McVeigh, the PL's second-leading scorer, added three goals in a 12-8 non-League loss at George Washington.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Orr
Holy Cross -- So., GK

Orr is the Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. The sophomore goalkeeper from Wilton, Conn., continued to rack up the saves during a pair of games last week, recording 11 in a 15-9 win over Fairfield and a Patriot League season-high 23 in a 16-11 loss to Connecticut. Orr has started all 15 games for Holy Cross this season, and has an 8.16 GAA and .584 save percentage.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Christy Smith
Lehigh -- Fr., M
(Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West)
Smith picks up her second Rookie of the Week award of the year after helping Lehigh to a 1-1 week that included a crucial 9-7 comeback victory over Bucknell. Smith, a midfielder from Downingtown, Pa., had two goals and four groundballs against the Bison, and added one goal, one assist and three groundballs in non-League action versus La Salle. She has 23 points through 14 games in 2005.
