Patriot League Play Continues on Saturday
Patriot League action resumes on Saturday, with one of the new members playing its first League contest. No. 16/17 Loyola Maryland will open the afternoon action by playing at Lafayette at Noon. Two more games are at 1 p.m. with No. 11/19 Navy at Bucknell and Lehigh at Colgate, while the day concludes with American at Holy Cross at 4 p.m. All four of Saturday's League contests will be shown on Patriot League Network.

More League Action Next Week
With an expanded Patriot League and longer League slate, there will be a pair of Wednesdays with League action in addition to the seven Saturdays. The first of those comes next week, with a four-game slate that includes Boston University playing its first League contest at home against Holy Cross. Navy (American) and Loyola (Bucknell) head on the road again, while Lafayette visits Lehigh in a rivalry matchup in Bethlehem. The League slate will pick right back up next Saturday with four more games, including Loyola playing its first League home game against Lehigh and Boston University visiting Navy.

Navy Continues League Winning Streak in Opener
Navy won its 13th consecutive Patriot League game, tied for the 10th-longest streak in NCAA history, by opening League action with an 11-5 win over Lafayette on Saturday. Navy can set the record for the longest Patriot League win streak by the end of next week as the Mids chase the 15-game run Lafayette went on from March 6, 1996 to March 20, 1999. Navy has not lost since falling to Lehigh in the 2011 regular-season finale, and has 19 wins in a row against Patriot League opponents overall including the last three postseason tournaments.

Loyola Enters Patriot League Era as Preseason Favorite
Loyola will play its first season in Patriot League women's lacrosse as a prohibitive favorite after overtaking four-time defending champion Navy in the sport's preseason poll announced on Jan. 30. The Greyhounds captured 15 of a possible 16 first-place votes and 127 points overall to earn the top spot, with the Mids second with 113 points and three first-place votes. Loyola's fellow newcomer, Boston University, took third with 94 points followed by Holy Cross (76), American (72), Lafayette (61), Colgate (47), Lehigh (38) and Bucknell (20). Loyola's Marlee Paton was named Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, with Navy's Annie Foky as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
