Navy Women's Lacrosse Team Prepares for Polar Bear Plunge

Midshipman Third Class Molly Hamilton is gearing up for The Big Day.

Every evening, the Naval Academy junior and classmate Jasmine DePompeo hop into bathtubs filled with ice cold water. Although both are members of Navy's top-ranked women's lacrosse team, they're not prepping for their season opener Feb. 11 against High Point.

For a few hours Jan. 28, at least half the team will put away its lacrosse sticks and make a splash as the Naval Academy's Polar Bear Plungers. They are, to date, the sole team representing the academy in this year's Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge.
