ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Jasmine DePompeo compiled four goals and three assists and Loren Generi scored three of her four goals in the first 3:01 of the game to lift Navy to a 21-11 Patriot League victory over Bucknell on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Madison Hurwitz and Emily Kookogey scored three goals apiece for the Bison, who had a good offensive day but struggled to keep the two-time defending Patriot League champions off the scoreboard.

Navy (7-1) won its seventh straight game by scoring on 21 of its 31 shots in the game. The Mids scored 14 times in the first half alone, including two in the final 19 seconds of the half after Bucknell had gotten back into the game with a 3-0 run. Bucknell nearly equaled Navy in the shot column with 30, and the Bison took good care of the ball with only eight turnovers.

While Bucknell played well for significant stretches, the early deficit was too big to overcome. Generi scored three quick goals to stake the Mids to a 3-0 lead before Hurwitz got the Bison on the board for the first time. Navy's lead later ballooned to 6-1 and 12-3 before Bucknell made its first run of the day. Katelyn Miller scored twice in a 55-second span, and then Kookogey converted an 8-meter attempt just 19 seconds later to make it a 12-6 game with 29 seconds left in the half. A six-goal halftime deficit might have been manageable, but Aimee Gennaro scored right off the draw, then Kathy Young added a back-breaking goal with two seconds left to put the Mids up 14-6.

Ryan Wenk's goal off a Miller feed with 18:49 remaining pulled the Bison within 16-9, but Navy answered with a quick 4-0 run to put the game away.

Miller finished with a three-point day with two goals and an assist, and she and Adrienne Wendling shared team-high honors with five draw controls apiece. Kookogey added an assist to her three goals, giving her a four-point game. Molly Ford handed out three assists, while Lindsey Ferro had two.

Bucknell won the ground-ball battle 12-11 and converted 12 of 14 clearing attempts. Navy was whistled for a whopping 53 fouls, compared to 24 for the Bison. Four Navy goalies combined to make 12 saves, while Bucknell's Katherine Fraile (3) and Caroline O'Neill (1) combined for four saves.

The Bison are back in action at Saint Francis (Pa.) on Tuesday at 6 p.m., before returning home to face league rival Lehigh next Saturday at noon at Graham Field.
