Juniors Kelsey Andersen and Meghan Cicchi were named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Mideast All-Region First Field Hockey Teams, and freshman Deanna DiCroce was named to the Second Field Hockey Team, last Tuesday.
Andersen, also picked up Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors and was named to the All-Patriot League First Team. She was a recipient of three weekly conference honors this season as Goalkeeper of the Week (9/8, 9/21, 10/26).
Cicchi was also named to First Team. She was named to the All-Patriot League First Team and has won three weekly league awards as Defender of the Week this season (9/21, 10/19, 11/2) with two goals, three assists and one game-winning goal in a win over No. 1 American in double-overtime. She is also a key player for the defense, helping record nine shutouts this season.
DiCroce, had a stand-out rookie year. She was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week (9/21, 9/28) and Rookie of the Week (9/8, 10/19, 11/2). She led the team with 12 goals, 26 points and 60 shots. She also led the team and the league in game-winning goals (6) and was 42nd in the nation for goals per game(0.71).
The Leopards finished with a 14-6 record - the most wins by the program since 2003, when that squad went 13-7. Lafayette advanced to the Patriot League Tournament before losing in the final match to American.
