Center Valley, Pa.--American junior goalkeeper Alyssa Poorman was named ECAC Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week on Wednesday following her performance in the Eagles' 3-1 win over Lafayette. Poorman made three key saves to preserve the victory and clinch the top seed for American in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.
Poorman has earned the victory in all nine of American's wins this season. Of her nine triumphs, six have been shutouts. Poorman has recorded 57 saves while allowing just 18 goals in 15 games.
As a result of claiming the top position in the Patriot League standings, Poorman and the Eagles will host the upcoming Patriot League Tournament, which will begin Nov. 7 in Washington, D.C.
