WASHINGTON - American University Field Hockey Coach Steve Jennings has announced the signing of incoming freshman Kelsey Davis for the 2009 season. Davis will join two other incoming freshmen -- Jenn Bradley and Shelby Storosh -- on the squad in the fall.

Davis, who should see action at AU as both a midfielder and forward, resides in Amaroo, Australia. She currently attends Radford College in Australia, and served as the team captain over the past two seasons. She was named the 2008 Radford College Sportswoman of the Year for her performances in both field hockey and track and field. Additionally, Davis led her club field hockey team in scoring in 2008.

Additionally, from 2002-08, Davis represented her state (A.C.T.) at the Australian national championships. In 2008, her team finished fourth in the U-18 Australian Championships.

"We are delighted to add Kelsey to our incoming class for the 2009-2010 season," said Jennings. "She has a strong background in Australia representing her State in hockey since 2002 and no doubt will add tremendous depth to our squad with her speed, skill and knowledge of the game. Her drive will only help us get better."

Bradley, Davis and Storosh and will join an AU field hockey program that has captured the last six Patriot League Championships. The Eagles currently have a 43-game winning streak against Patriot League opponents. The 2009-10 season will begin in August.
