Patriot League Field Hockey Academic Honor Roll ![]()
Center Valley, Pa. - Colgate's Sarah Pedersen, the 2009 Patriot League Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 74 field hockey student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
A senior biology major from State College, Pa., Pedersen posted a 3.93 grade-point average in the fall. She is one of nine student-athletes from Colgate on this year's list and was Colgate's first field hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year since 1997.
Six Patriot League field hockey student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs in the fall. Three perfect scores belong to Bucknell student-athletes: Jessie Atieh, a senior education major; Mallory Smith, a sophomore biology major; and Catherine Weiss, a senior management major. Two American honor roll members earned 4.0 GPAs this fall: Melissa Casale, a sophomore health promotion major; and Hannah Hennighausen, a junior business administration major. Lehigh's Julie Kuhns, a sophomore systems management major, also recorded a perfect GPA in the fall semester.
American placed 19 student-athletes on the list, the most of any Patriot League institution. Lehigh tallied 17 student-athletes, followed by Bucknell with 12.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester.
