Lafayette's Stone Selected To New Jersey High Performance Field Hockey Team
Lafayette assistant field hockey coach Jennifer Stone has been named to the New Jersey High Performance Team that will compete in the National Championships starting on June 20 at Virginia Beach. The National Championships are a round-robin tournament featuring the top players from USA Field Hockey's six regional High Performance Centers. Those six teams will compete at the tournament and players from those teams will be named to the National and Olympic team rosters.

All Six Patriot League Field Hockey Teams Earn NFHCA Academic Team Honor
All six Patriot League field hockey teams were honored on Monday as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2008 NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Awards. As a team American finished fifth among Division I squads with a 3.44 grade point average. Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette and Lehigh were also honored as programs with a team GPA of 3.0 and higher, marking the second consecutive season that all six Patriot League squads were named to the list.

Patriot League Announces Field Hockey Academic Honor Roll
American's Irene Schickhardt, the 2008 Patriot League Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 71 field hockey student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. A senior international studies/economics major from Ludwigsburg, Germany, Schickhardt posted a 3.4 grade-point average in the fall. She is one of 17 student-athletes from American on this year's list, tied with Lafayette for the most of any school.

Patriot League Field Hockey Release FINAL
The 2008 Patriot League field hockey season ended the way it has for the past six seasons, with American University claiming the title and eventually competing in its fifth NCAA Tournament. The Eagles have won six straight Patriot League field hockey titles, and are now one away from matching Lafayette for the most Patriot League field hockey championships. The Eagles were also rewarded with a pair of All-Americans. American was not the only institution to show of its talent. Ten different Patriot League student-athletes from four institutions were honored with All-Region accolades.
