Center Valley, Pa.--Navy junior center Cassie Consedine and Colgate freshman center Patricia Oakes each recorded double-doubles last week, helping each claim the Patriot League's weekly honors. After notching her League-leading fifth double-double of the season, Consedine was named Patriot League Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Oakes recorded her first career double-double, helping her earn Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Baden Player of the Week (Dec. 22-Dec. 28)
Cassie Consedine, Navy So., F, Bartlesville, Okla.
Consedine was named Patriot League Player of the Week for the first time in her career after helping Navy win its second straight game. Consedine notched 24 points and 12 rebounds against Radford for her second consecutive double-double. She now has a Patriot League-leading five double-doubles. Consedine's 24 points against the Highlanders matched a career high. She has averaged 17.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in her past seven games.
Baden Rookie of the Week (Dec. 22-Dec. 28)
Patricia Oakes, Colgate Fr., C, Evergreen, Colo.
Oakes logged her first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds against Bryant on Sunday. She also recorded a block, a steal and an assist against the Bulldogs. Oakes has now claimed Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors three times this season. She is second on her team with 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

In Review
Of the five Patriot League teams that competed last week, four picked up victories. Navy and Holy Cross both played on Monday. Navy picked up a home win over Radford, while Holy Cross fell at Northeastern. Of the four games involving Patriot League teams on Sunday, three were won by Patriot League squads. Holy Cross collected its first win since Nov. 29 with a 63-58 win over Drexel. Also, Bucknell topped St. Francis (Pa.) while American handed Radford its second loss to a Patriot League school in a week. Colgate lost to Bryant on the opening day of the Fordham Holiday Tournament. The Raiders rebounded on the second day of the tournament to beat Norfolk State, 78-54, snapping a five-game losing streak.
On Deck
Holy Cross, which opened the Hawk Classic on Sunday in Philadelphia, will continue with tournament competition Monday against host Saint Joseph's. Also competing in tournaments will be Lafayette and Lehigh. Lafayette will open the Hokie Hardwood Classic against host Virginia Tech, while Lehigh will host North Florida on the opening day of the Christmas City Classic. Lafayette and Lehigh will continue tournament play on Tuesday. In Blacksburg, Va., Lafayette will take on either Liberty or North Carolina A&T. Lehigh will battle LaSalle or Valparaiso in Bethlehem, Pa. Also on Tuesday, Army will travel to Manhattan, while American will head to Richmond, Va. to take on Virginia Commonwealth. In Wednesday's lone game, Colgate will play at Central Connecticut State.
Team Notebooks
American After 12 games, the Eagles lead the Patriot League in steals with 10.3 thefts per contest. With a +2.6 turnover margin, American is the only Patriot League team with a positive number in that category. The Eagles forced Radford into 14 turnovers in American's 68-45 win over the Highlanders on Sunday. The Eagles will travel south on Interstate-95 to take on Virginia Commonwealth on Tuesday in Richmond, Va.
Army In Army's last outing, a 66-33 win over Presbyterian, senior Alex McGuire, the Black Knights' leading scorer, was held to single-figures for the first time this season with two points. Laura Beranek and Nalini Hawkins picked up the slack by scoring season-highs of 18 and 16 points, respectively. Army is the only team in the Patriot League with four players in the top 25 in scoring. Army will return to action with a Tuesday road game at Manhattan.
Bucknell Despite leading the Patriot League with 39.8 rebounds per game, Bucknell was out-rebounded by St. Francis (Pa.), 42-33, on Sunday. Despite getting beaten in the rebounding battle, the Bison claimed a 61-56 win to even their record at 5-5. Cosima Higham, who had nine boards against the Red Flash, leads the team and is ranked third in the Patriot League with 7.7 rebounds per game. Bucknell will not play again in 2009. Bucknell will open the New Year with a Jan. 2 match-up with Bucknell.
Colgate The Raiders played their first game since Dec. 7 on Sunday, dropping a 71-59 decision to Bryant at the Fordham Holiday Tournament. Colgate rebounded to defeat Norfolk State, 78-54, snapping a five-game losing streak by the Raiders. Patricia Oakes was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after notching her first career double-double in the Raiders' loss to Bryant. Colgate will next travel to Central Connecticut State on Wednesday.
Holy Cross Holy Cross snapped a five-game losing skid with a 63-58 triumph over Drexel on Sunday at the Hawk Classic in Philadelphia. Earlier in the week, the Crusaders were topped by Northeastern, 66-47, in their first action since Dec. 9. Holy Cross followed the win with a 74-53 loss to host Saint Joseph's. The Crusaders boast the League's top scorer through 12 games. Junior guard Briana McFadden averages 15.8 points per game to lead the Patriot League. Holy Cross will resume action on Jan. 2 against Maine.
Lafayette The Leopards are the only teamin the Patriot League with an undefeated home record and a winless road record. Lafayette will have two chances to win away from the Kirby Sports Center this week. The Leopards will play two games in the Hokie Hardwood Classic in Blacksburg, Va., starting with host Virginia Tech on Monday. Lafayette has three players among the top 20 scorers in the Patriot League, led by LaKeisha Wright's 10.0 points per game.
Lehigh The Mountain Hawks own the Patriot League's top record heading into the week. Lehigh will look to add to that mark with a pair of games in its own Christmas City Classic in Stabler Arena. Junior guard Alex Ross, who has attempted more three-pointers than anyone else in the Patriot League, leads the League in three-pointer field goal percentage. She has made 40 of her 81 shots from behind the arc (49.4%).
Navy The Mids have now won two straight games after beating Radford, 61-44, on Monday at Alumni Hall. Sophomore center Cassie Consedine posted her Patriot League-leading fifth double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Consedine now has 17 career double-doubles in just 42 games. Navy will not play again until 2009 when the Mids travel to Colorado Springs for a Jan. 3 contest against rival Air Force.
