Center Valley, Pa.--With final exams and the end of the year looming, it was another light week in the Patriot League, with just half of the teams in action. Army was the only team to play twice. The Black Knights picked up a last-minute win over Yale before falling to No. 13 Rutgers in the Maggie Dixon Classic. Things will beging to heat up once again in the League starting Friday. Nine games are on the slate for Patriot League teams this weekend.

Baden Player of the Week (Dec. 8-Dec. 14)
Alex McGuire, Army Sr., G, Gambrills, Md.
McGuire averaged 16 points and made 44 percent of her three-point attempts during the week. She helped Army extend its winning streak to four games by hitting the game-winning free throws in the Black Knights' 62-60 win over Yale on Wednesday. She finished with a season-high 16 points, three assists and a season-best five steals against the Bulldogs. She matched her season-high with 16 points against No. 13 Rutgers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. She made 5-of-8 field goal attempts, including 4-of-8 from three-point range. Her four three-pointers against the Scarlet Knights matched a career-high.
Baden Rookie of the Week (Dec. 8-Dec. 14)
Morgan Wrightson, Bucknell Fr., G, Gaithersburg, Md.
Wrightson notched her first career start against Big Ten power Penn State. She played in a career-high 31 minutes, registering seven points and a career-high three assists. She also recorded three rebounds, which matched a career-high.
Honorable Mention Performances Last Week
Whitney Fremeau, Holy Cross So., G/F, Manchester, N.H.
Fremeau recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds against Rhode Island. She played in a career-high 34 minutes against the Rams.
Cassie Consedine, Navy So., C, Bartlesville, Okla.
Consedine led Navy with 14 points in the Mids loss to Towson. She made 6-of-8 field goal attempts, including 2-of-3 from behind the three-point arc. Consedine has scored in double-figures in seven of Navy's 11 games, including three straight.

In Review
Just five games were on the slate for Patriot League teams last week, including just one weekend contest. With just four Patriot League teams in action last week, Army was the only squad to play twice. The Black Knights extended their winning streak to four games with a 62-60 win over Yale on Wednesday. Senior Alex McGuire made the game-winning free throws with 55 seconds remaining to give the Black Knights the win over the Bulldogs. Army's winning streak was snapped with a 59-38 loss to No. 13 Rutgers on Sunday at Madison Square Garden in New York. In other action last week, Bucknell fell to Big Ten power Penn State, Holy Cross was topped by Rhode Island, and Navy was thwarted by Towson.
On Deck
With the end of the semester and final exams hovering over campuses, the weekday schedule will again be light for Patriot League teams. Lafayette and Lehigh will be the lone Patriot League squads with mid-week games. Lafayette will head south to LaSalle for a Tuesday pairing, while Lehigh will travel to Newark, N.J. to square off with NJIT. Once the weekend rolls around, much of the Patriot League will resume competition. Starting Friday, there will be nine weekend games on the docket. Lafayette will become the second Patriot League team to battle No. 13 Rutgers when the Leopards venture to Piscataway, N.J. on Friday. Also on Friday, American will host Princeton, Bucknell will welcome Wofford, and Navy will play at Rider. A pair of Patriot League teams will host Saturday games, as Lehigh will battle Binghamton and Army will face Presbyterian. On Sunday, American will square off against cross-town foe Georgetown in a 1 p.m. showdown. Also on the Sunday slate, Bucknell will traverse south to take on James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va., while Lafayette will host Rice.
Hoops For Hope
The Lafayette women's basketball team will present the money raised from its September shoot-a-thon, Hoops for Hope, in a pregame ceremony prior to the start of the team's Sunday game against Rice. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will both receive checks of nearly $2,000. Tip-off for the game is at 1 p.m. The Leopards hosted the Sept. 28 shoot-a-thon in honor of two of the team's off-court heroes--Kasey Keenan and Lauren Loose, daughter of Lafayette football defensive coordinator John Loose. Kasey's charity, Kasey's Krusaders, will donate its check for $1,802.50 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while Lauren's charity, Lauren's First and Goal, will donate an equal amount to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Home Is Where The Heart Is
Three Patriot League teams have yet to lose on their home floors this season. American and Lafayette are each 4-0 at home, while Lehigh is 3-0 at Stabler Arena. Lafayette is the only one of those three teams that has not won on the road. The Leopards are 0-5 away from the Kirby Sports Center. Bucknell is on the other end of the spectrum. The Bison started out the season by winning three straight games, all of them on the road. Bucknell is one of two Patriot League teams looking for its first home win. The Bison are 0-2 Sojka Pavilion. Holy Cross is 0-4 at the Hart Center.
Team Notebooks
American The Eagles were idle last week, but will return to action with a pair of weekend contests. American will host Princeton on Friday, before welcoming in-city rival Georgetown to Bender Arena on Sunday. American is the only Patrot League team with three players averaging at least 10 points per game. Michelle Kirk leads the etam with 12.8 points per game. Nicole Ryan follows with 12.4 points per contest, while Liz Leer contributes 10.9 points per outing.
Army The Black Knights won their fourth-consecutive game with a 62-60 triumph over Yale on Wednesday before dropping a 59-38 decision to No. 13 Rutgers on Sunday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Seniors Alex McGuire and Megan Evans both played in their 100th career games in Wednesday's victory over Yale. Sophomore Erin Anthony extended her double-digit scoring streak to five games by scoring 10 points against both Yale and Rutgers. Army will spend the week taking final exams as the U.S. Military Academy observes TEE Week. The Black Knights will resume competition on Saturday against Presbyterian.
Bucknell Bucknell lost its fourth straight, dropping an 81-44 decision to Penn State in University Park, Pa. on Tuesday. Senior guard Amanda Brown connected on 4-of-7 three-pointers and finished with a team-high 14 points. Sophomore forward Joyce Novacek added nine points and six rebounds. The Bison will resume action on Dec. 19 against Wofford at Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg. Lauren Schober will play in her 100th career game when the Bison meet the Terriers. She has started 82 of her 99 games to date.
Colgate The Raiders fell to 2-8 with a pair of home losses in their most recent action two weeks ago. Colgate has now lost four straight games, including two in overtime. Sophomore Georgia Gier averaged 9.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in the Raiders' three losses last week. For the season, Gier averages 7.0 points and a League-best 8.3 rebounds per contest. Colgate will not compete again until a Dec. 28 match-up with Bryant. The next home action for Colgate will be the Raiders' Patriot League opener on Jan. 10 against Army.
Holy Cross The Crusaders dropped their fourth straight contest on Tuesday, falling at Rhode Island, 60-53. Sophomore guard Whitney Fremeau recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Junior guard Briana McFadden leads the Patriot League in scoring with 15.8 points per game. She holds the top single-game scoring output of the season with 31 points in the Crusaders' triple-overtime win against Missouri. The next outing for Holy Cross will be Dec. 22 at Northeastern.
Lafayette The Leopards did not compete last week after going 3-1 the previous week. Lafayette is 4-0 at home this season and 0-5 away from the Kirby Sports Center. Senior guard Cristin Zavocki leads the Leopards with 10.7 points per game this season. She is one of three Leopards in the top 15 of the Patriot League in field goal percentage. The Leopards will return to action on Tuesday when they head south to Philadelphia to battle LaSalle.
Lehigh The Mountain Hawks share the Patriot League's top record with American entering the week. Lehigh, which did not compete last week, will resume action on Thursday at NJIT before returning home to host Binghamton on Saturday. Erica Prosser and Alex Ross rank second and eighth, respectively, in scoring among Patriot League players. Prosser averages 15.0 points per contest, while Ross contributes 11.9 points per outing.
Navy The Mids have dropped three straight games after falling at 7-1 Towson, 65-53. Sophomore center Cassie Consedine has now scored in double-figures in seven of Navy's 11 games this season after producing 14 points against the Tigers. She leads the Patriot League with three double-doubles. Consedine is also just one block shy of 100 for her career. Navy's next game will be Friday at Rider.
