CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - It took a little while but Lehigh found its groove again after nearly two weeks off the floor.
Kerry Kinek tallied career highs of 25 points on 12 made field goals and three teammates hit double figures in offense as Lehigh (6-2) pulled away from St. Peter's to a 75-54 win at Stabler Arena. Elizabeth Sharlow added 12 points, Katie O'Reilly 11 and Kiernan McCloskey had 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds off the bench. The teams were close through most of the first half until Lehigh pulled ahead by a 35-28 count at the half. Kayla Burton bookended an 8-0 spurt in the second that put Lehigh in front 59-44 with 7:28 left. The Mountain Hawks led by double digits the rest of the way, and held the Peahens to just one point over the last four minutes. Lehigh turned 22 St. Peter's turnovers into 26 points, and shot 42.4 percent from the field despite a 3-of-18 showing beyond the 3-point line.
Nai Brown and Kara Marshall combined for 32 of Loyola Maryland's points in a 56-50 loss at George Washington on Monday night. Brown added 11 rebounds to her 22 points for her first career double-double. The Greyhounds trailed 38-27 with 16:27 left in the game before chipping away, first cutting it to a six-point deficit after five straight points and later shaving it to a three-point game at 53-50 with 27 seconds remaining after a pair of Brown free throws. But the Colonials hit 3-of-4 foul shots down the stretch and Nicole Krusen's trey attempt with 10 seconds left was no good to drop Loyola to 2-7. The Greyhounds saw 24 turnovers turned into 30 George Washington points.
