CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Lehigh's defense forced Fairfield into shooting only 12 percent in the second half as the Mountain Hawks took a 47-42 victory Thursday night in Bethlehem, Pa.
Kerry Kinek and Elizabeth Sharlow shared the team lead with nine points, with the latter's coming in 22 minutes off the bench. Kinek added eight rebounds. Lehigh trailed by just four at 30-26 at halftime despite hitting just 33 percent of its opportunities from the floor while the Stags shot better than 46 percent. The Mountain Hawks' defense held Fairfield at bay in the second, as the Stags made four field goals in the 20-minute span, all from beyond the arc, while putting up a 4-for-33 number. Fairfield went 0 for 17 on 2-point tries. It led by as many as 15 in the first half before Lehigh clawed its way back into the contest.
Friday's slate features only one tilt, as Army visits Rider at 7 p.m.
