WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army women’s basketball will look to capture its second road win of the season when it travels to Fairleigh Dickinson University on Thursday. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m., at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, N.J.

Setting The Stage
Army will look to bounce back after a 59-47 loss to St. Francis (N.Y.) in the Black Knights’ home opener on Monday night, in which they had their poorest shooting output since the 2010-11 season finale. FDU is coming off a 47-point loss at Syracuse on Sunday night. The Knights are 0-2 on the season. Army, which won its 2012-13 opener on the road at Wagner, will look to go 2-0 on the road for the first time since 1987. 

Army-FDU Series
Army and FDU have squared off five times in the past four seasons and nine times overall dating back to the 1979-80 season. The Black Knights lead the all-time series, 6-3, including a 51-37 win at West Point in the 2011 matchup. Army’s strength in that game was in the paint, outrebounding FDU 44-32 while totaling 18 points in the lane to the Knights’ four. FDU’s Mariyah Laury had a game-high 14 points, while Army’s Jen Hazlett added 11 and eight boards. Army’s six victories have been by an average margin of 12 points, while FDU’s three wins have been by an average of six. Army will host its second home game of the season on Sunday when Penn comes to West Point. The Black Knights and Quakers will tip off 1 p.m., at Christl Arena. Penn is 0-2 on the season, most recently falling to Virginia, 68-65, on Monday night in Philadelphia, Pa.
