June 22, 2009
Center Valley, Pa. - Army's Erin Anthony, the 2009 Patriot League Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 42 women's basketball student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Anthony recorded a 3.94 spring GPA in Civil Engineering. Anthony is joined on the Academic Honor Roll by six student-athletes who earned perfect 4.0s in the spring semester. American's Michelle Kirk, still undeclared, earned a 4.0 for her work academically. Bucknell's Trisha Krewson, also undeclared, was also able to earn 4.0 GPA for the spring term. A pair of Lafayette teammates, junior Economics and Art major Amanda Smith and senior English major Emily Garner, also achieved perfect spring. Lehigh also boasts a pair of teammates with 4.0s as sophomore Erica Prosser earned a 4.0 in the Arts & Sciences and senior Claire Sullivan earned a 4.0 in Political Science. Lafayette and Lehigh both placed eight student-athletes on the Honor Roll. Holy Cross tallied seven student-athletes and American added 6. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
