March 2, 2010
Center Valley, Pa.—For the second straight year, Army junior Erin Anthony was named the Patriot League Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The announcement was made Tuesday during the Women’s Basketball Tournament media teleconference. Anthony is the fifth player to be named Patriot League Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in back-to-back seasons. No player has won the award three times.
A civil engineering major, Anthony holds a 3.78 cumulative grade-point-average. During the fall semester, she posted a 3.95 GPA. Anthony was named a 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-American. She recently became one of 20 cadets in her class to be accepted into the USMA Scholarship Program, which will assist her in applying for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships, among others.
