CENTER VALLEY, Pa.- Bucknell (16-11, 11-6) secured a home game in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Women's Basketball Tournament and Lafayette (14-14, 8-9) earned a first-round bye with victories Wednesday night in the next-to-last action of the regular season.
The Bison defeated Lehigh (12-16, 5-12) at Stabler Arena and the Leopards broke a three-game losing streak with a win over Colgate (7-21, 3-14) at Kirby Sports Center.
American (20-8, 13-4) won its 20th game of the season and kept the top of the Patriot League standings in flux with a home victory over first place Navy (22-6, 14-3).
Army (21-7, 13-4) remained tied with the Eagles and moved to within a game of the Mids with an impressive road win at Boston University (11-19, 6-11) and Holy Cross (18-10, 10-7) built a big lead before coasting to a home win over Loyola Maryland (5-23, 2-15).
While seeds four through eight are set in stone, the order between Navy, Army and American at the top is still to be settled. Navy can nail down first place with a win Saturday at Loyola, but a Navy loss and a win by Army over Lafayette gives the Black Knights the top seed.
American can finish second with a win over Bucknell and an Army loss, but if the two teams finish tied behind Navy the Black Knights would get the No. 2 seed as they swept American during the regular season.
