Playoff Positioning Still up in the Air heading in to Final Week
Navy has a two-game lead with two game to play as the Patriot League regular season enters its final week. American gets a shot to chip away at that lead when they host the Mids on Wednesday. Navy needs to either defeat the Eagles or Loyola on Saturday to clinch the top seed. Army can also benefit from a slip-up by Navy and hold the tiebreaker advantage over American.

Bucknell, Holy Cross in Contention for Last Quarterfinal Home Game
With three spots determined, Bucknell and Holy Cross are the last two teams standing in the race for the final home game in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League tournament. The Bison hold not only a one-game lead over Holy Cross in the current standings, but also swept the Crusaders to secure the head-to-head tiebreaker. Only a Holy Cross sweep coupled with two Bison losses in the final week will pry the fourth seed away from Bucknell.

Lafayette and Boston University Battle for First-Round Bye
While the bottom four teams in the Patriot League standings will play an opening round game on Tuesday, Mar. 4, the top six get a bye into Thursday's quarterfinal. With the top five teams already determined, Lafayette currently sits alone in sixth place heading in to the final week. The Leopards lead Boston University by one game and the teams split a pair of head-to-head meetings this year with each team winning on the other's home court. Unless Navy falls out of the top spot, Lafayette's win over the Mids on Feb. 1 could ultimately decides who gets a bye in the opening round should the the Terriers and Lafayette end up with identical records at the end of the regular season.

1,000-Point Scorers
Eleven active Patriot Leaguers are in the 1,000-point club, and one is now a 1,500-point scorer. Smith is followed on the 1,000-point list by Bucknell's Shelby Romine (1,485), Navy's Jade Geif (1,433), American's Alexis Dobbs (1,211), Boston University's Rashidat Agboola (1,149), Navy's Alix Membreno (1,148), Army's Jen Hazlett (1,108), Navy's Kara Pollinger (1,040), Navy's Audrey Bauer (1,036), Lafayette's Emily Homan (1,034) and Holy Cross' Brisje Malone (1,021). Seniors Audrey Bauer (1,001) and Kara Pollinger (1,004) joined Jade Geif and Alix Membreno in reaching this milestone during the Mids 80- 71 win over Bucknell on Feb. 12. Army sophomore Kelsey Minato (993) should reach the mark on Wednesday at Boston University. Lafayette should soon add senior Danielle Fiacco (984 points) to become the 17th member of their 1,000 point club. Bucknell's Shelby Romine is 15 points away from becoming the 15th Bison women's basketball player to score 1,500 points. Navy's Jade Geif needs six rebounds to become the first in program history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.

Team Notebooks

AMERICAN The Eagles lost for the first time in seven outings on Saturday when they fell 64-60 to Army at Christl Arena. The Black Knights followed up that win with a victory over Lehigh on Monday night to move in to a tie for second place with American in the Patriot League standings. Army owns a tiebreaker with the Eagles, having swept two games from them this season... Arron Zimmerman scored 20 points to lead American in the loss and Alexis Dobbs chipped in with 17 points and six rebounds. Zimmerman has led the Eagles in scoring in four of the last six games... American is currently sixth in the nation in scoring defense at 54.7 points per game allowed, according to the latest NCAA statistics... The Eagles play Navy in their final home game of the regular season and the travel to Bucknell on Saturday. American is guaranteed to host a quarterfinal round playoff game on Thursday, Mar. 6. The seed and opponent will be determined following the outcomes of this week's contests.

ARMY The Black Knights caught up to second place American in the Patriot League standings by defeating the Eagles 64-60 on Saturday and then rallying for a 78-69 win at Lehigh on Monday night. Kelsey Minato and Jen Hazlett each scored 20 points in the win over American and Minato netted 31 as Army rallied from a 19-point deficit to the Mountain Hawks to win going away... Minato, a sophomore, now has 993 points for her career and has set Army single-season records for points (596), three-point field goals (67) and free throws (175)... The Black Knights are third in the Patriot League in scoring defense but yielded a season-high 47 in the first half to Lehigh before holding the Mountain Hawks to just five field goals and 22 points over the final 20 minutes... Army will finish the season with road games at Boston University and Lafayette. The Black Knights would need to win both and have Navy lose twice in order to claim the number one seed. The Black Knights own the tiebreaker with American by virtue of two wins over the Eagles this season.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY Terriers hung with Bucknell on the road Saturday before a 17-4 run by the hosts in the second half resulted in Boston University suffering a 62-50 setback at Sojka Pavilion... Senior Rashidat Agboola posted her fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Terriers. Senior Whitney Turner finished with five blocks and six boards in only 16 minutes of the bench... Boston University is second in the Patriot League, averaging 7.0 three-point field goals per game, but struggled to a 4-for-16 night in the loss to the Bison. The Terriers also underwhelmed at the free throw line making only 6-of-14 while Bucknell was hitting 23-of-29... Boston University can avoid a first round playoff contest with wins this week at home against Army and American coupled with a pair of Lafayette losses. The Terriers would likely lose a tiebreaker scenario with Lafayette due to the Leopards win over Navy earlier this month.

BUCKNELL Bison used a 17-4 run in the second half Saturday to break open a close game and pull away for a 62-50 victory over Boston University at Sojka Pavilion... Senior Shelby Romine scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and freshman Claire DeBoer also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards... Romine was named the Anaconda Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time this season and third time in her career. The Centreville, Va. native has won the award once in each of her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. DeBoer's Anaconda Sports Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week award ties her for the Patriot League record of eight... The Bison travel to Lehigh on Wednesday and then conclude the regular season at home against American. Bucknell needs one win or a loss by Holy Cross to nail down the fourth and final home game for the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League tournament.

COLGATE The Raiders won back-to-back games for the first time since mid-December following an exciting 67-65 overtime victory Sunday at Loyola University Maryland. Sophomore Randyll Butler hit a 15-foot jump shot as time expired in the extra session to give the Raiders the win. Loyola had forced the overtime on a three-point field goal by Lauren Daugherty at the end of regulation after Colgate had blown a 15-point second half lead. Butler led Raiders with 13 points and 11 rebounds... Carole Harris had eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Raiders. It was the first time in four games that Harris did not lead Colgate's rebounding effort. ... The Raiders are all alone in the ninth spot in the Patriot League standings and have an outside chance to catch Lehigh for the 8th spot and host an opening round game with wins in their final two games against Lafayette and Lehigh and a Mountain Hawks loss to Bucknell.

HOLY CROSS The Crusaders saw their three-game winning streak end on Saturday with a 64-57 loss at Navy. Raquel Scott and Brisje Malone led Holy Cross with 15 points each in the loss to the Mids... The Crusaders were dominated on the boards (47-35) by the aggressive Navy squad. Scott led the Crusaders with eight boards, finishing two rebounds shy of adding to her league-leading 14 double-doubles... The Crusaders currently lead the Patriot League in scoring offense (71.1), field-goal-percentage (43.3) and assists per game (18.0)... Holy Cross begins the final week of the regular season with a home contest Wednesday against Loyola before wrapping up at Boston University. The Crusaders would need to win both games and have Bucknell lose both in order to leap frog the Bison and claim a quarterfinal round home game on Mar. 6.

LAFAYETTE The once-hot Leopards lost a third straight following a 73-59 setback to Lehigh on Saturday night at Stabler Arena. Lafayette led the Mountain Hawks by five with 15 minutes remaining, but the hosts finished the game with a 19-5 run to win going away. Linnel Macklin scored 11 points and Kelly Loughney added 10 off of the bench. Emily Homan just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and 11 rebounds... Lafayette has dropped 4-of-5 since starting the month of February with back-to-back wins over first place Navy and Bucknell... The Leopards finish the regular season with home contests against Colgate and Army. Lafayette is currently in sixth place, one game clear of Boston University. The top six teams in the Patriot League standings do not play in the opening round on Tuesday. If Navy holds off Army and American for the No. 1 seed, the Leopards win over the Mids on Feb. 1 would give them an edge in tiebreaker scenarios with BU.

LEHIGH The Mountain Hawks split a pair of home games with Lafayette and Army in a three-day span. On Saturday, Lehigh finished with a 19-5 run to pull away for a 73-59 win over the Leopards. Katie O'Reilly, Kerry Kinek and Sarah Williams all scored 16 points in the victory. The Mountain Hawks were on the other side of that coin on Monday, building a 19-point lead over Army, but only hitting five field goals in the final 20 minutes of a 78-69 loss. Kinek and Williams led the Lehigh effort with 18 and 15 points, respectively... The Mountain Hawks scored a season-high 47 first-half points, but shot only 22% from the floor in the second half... Lehigh will play their final home game of the regular season on Wednesday against Bucknell before completing the campaign on Saturday at Colgate. The Mountain Hawks need to win one of the two remaining games to guarantee themselves a game at Stabler Arena in the opening round of the Patriot League tournament. Lehigh leads Colgate by two games in the standings with two to play.

LOYOLA MARYLAND The Greyhounds suffered a disheartening 67-65 home loss in overtime to Colgate on Sunday when they rallied from a 15-point second half deficit to tie the game at the end of regulation on a three-point field goal Lauren Daugherty only to lose when the Raiders' Randyll Butler hit a buzzer-beater of her own in the extra session. Nai Brown led all scorers in the contest with 14 points for Loyola...The Greyhounds tied a season-high with 43 rebounds in the loss to Colgate. Brown grabbed 10 of the caroms, Nneka Offodile added nine and Daugherty eight... Sophomore Diana Logoan scored a career-high 13 points in 32 minutes off of the bench for the Greyhounds... Loyola finishes the regular season with a road trip Holy Cross on Wednesday before returning to Reitz Arena to face first-place Navy on Saturday. The Greyhounds would need to win both contests and have Colgate lose their two remaining games to finish ahead of the Raiders in the standings.

NAVY The Mids moved a step closer to an outright Patriot League title with a 64-57 win over Holy Cross on Saturday at Alumni Hall. Jade Geif scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds while Alix Membreno displayed a strong all-around game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. ... In their final home game of the regular season, Navy honored five seniors (Geif, Membreno, Audrey Bauer, Kara Pollinger and M.L. Morrison) who have contributed to three Patriot League Tournament championships, more than 80 victories and 5,000 points in their four-year careers... Navy connected on six three-point field goals in the win over the Crusaders to set a new Patriot League single-season record of 246. The Mids 2012-13 squad held the previous mark of 243... Navy finishes the regular season on the road against American and Loyola and need one victory to clinch their first outright Patriot League regular season title and home games throughout the Patriot League tournament.
