CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The regular season is hitting the home stretch and the Patriot League Women's Basketball Tournament is on the horizon, and two crucially important performances last week were recognized Monday as the games take on more and more meaning.

Navy junior forward Jade Geif was named the Anaconda Player of the Week, while Lehigh freshman forward Kerry Kinek was honored as the Anaconda Rookie of the Week for the Feb. 18-24 period.

Geif tallied her 1,000th career point in Saturday's win over Colgate, and has been named Player of the Week four times this season, including three times in the last five weeks.

Kinek is now a six-time Rookie of the Week selection, having collected the award each of the last three weeks. She is one behind Army's Kelsey Minato, who leads this season with seven awards.

The second-to-last set of Patriot League women's basketball games will be Wednesday. The slate features Army going to Holy Cross, Navy hosting Lehigh, Lafayette entertaining Colgate and Bucknell traveling to American. Tip times are set for 7 p.m.

ANACONDA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JADE GEIF, NAVY Jr., F, Lakeville, Minn.
Geif led Navy in points, field goal percentage and steals on the week, helping the Mids go 2-0 with wins at American and at home against Colgate. The 6-foot forward narrowly missed a double-double in both games, scoring 14 points with nine rebounds in Wednesday's 52-42 victory over the Eagles, and dropping 22 points and nine boards in Saturday's 63-48 triumph against the Raiders. She netted her 1,000th career point Saturday, making her the fifth Patriot Leaguer this season to reach that mark. Geif averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 16 of 29 (55.2 percent) for the week. It's her fourth Player of the Week award of the season.

ANACONDA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KERRY KINEK, LEHIGH Fr., F, Whitehall, Pa.
Lehigh ran its win streak to four with two double-digit wins last week, and Kinek was a big reason. She broke Lehigh and League single-game records with 22 rebounds to go with 11 points, four assists and two blocks in the Mountain Hawks' 49-37 win at Bucknell Wednesday. She followed that with 16 points and eight rebounds and was 7 of 10 from the foul line in Lehigh's 60-40 victory Saturday night over visiting Lafayette. For the week she averaged 13.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 8 of 19 from the floor (42.1 percent) and making 10 of 14 from the line.
