CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The second half of Patriot League play began over the weekend in women's basketball, and big performance from a pair of players were honored Monday with Anaconda weekly awards. Navy junior forward Jade Geif was named Anaconda Player of the Week, and Lehigh freshman forward Kerry Kinek was honored as the Anaconda Rookie of the Week for the period from Feb. 4-10.

Both honorees are multi-time winners this season. Geif picked up her second citation of the season Monday, with both coming in the last three weeks. Kinek remains one of three players named Rookie of the Week this season, and she garnered her fourth honor.

JADE GEIF, NAVY Jr., F, Lakeville, Minn.
Geif powered Navy to a 60-52 overtime victory Saturday at Lafayette, enabling the Mids to maintain their one-game lead in the standings and improve to 7-1 in the League. The junior forward finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals, and scored seven of her team’s 12 points in the extra period. After scoring just four points in the first half, Geif shot 6 of 9 in the game’s final 25 minutes, including a 3-of-3 effort from the field and a 3-of-4 showing at the foul line to score 15 points after the intermission. Geif has scored in double figures in six straight games, while her four steals tied a career high and her 19 points tied her season best. It’s her second honor of the season, with both coming in the last three weeks.

KERRY KINEK, LEHIGH Fr., F, Whitehall, Pa.
Kinek ends the four-week stretch of awards for Army’s Kelsey Minato by picking up her fourth honor of the season and first since Jan. 7. The 6-foot-3 freshman forward netted a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers in Lehigh’s 72-66 loss at home Sunday to Holy Cross. Kinek also grabbed seven rebounds and two steals while blocking four shots in 34 minutes of action. She shot 7 of 12 from the field, and was 7 of 11 at the foul line. Kinek is one of three players to share the Rookie of the Week honor, along with Minato and Army’s Aimee Oertner.



KELSEY MINATO, ARMY Fr., G, Huntington Beach, Calif.
Tallied 14 points and shot a perfect 6 of 6 from the foul line, hitting four in the final 24 seconds to help seal Saturday’s 44-35 win at Bucknell.

SHELBY ROMINE, BUCKNELL Jr., G, Centreville, Va.
Scored 16 points, including the 1,000th of her career, with six rebounds and a pair of assists in Saturday’s 44-35 loss to Army.

Netted a career-high 19 points and shot 6 of 7 from beyond the arc in Holy Cross’ 72-66 victory at Lehigh Sunday. Added three rebounds and three steals.
