Patriot League Announces Anaconda Women's Basketball Weekly Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.- Boston University senior forward Rashidat Agboola and Bucknell freshman forward Claire DeBoer earned Patriot League Anaconda Women's Basketball weekly awards on Monday for helping their teams each split a pair of games last week.

Agboola scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help the Terriers gain a split of the season series against Lafayette with a 61-59 victory at Kirby Sports Center. The Methuen, Mass. native also scored 19 points in Boston University's 68-57 loss to first place Navy. Agboola has now scored in double digits in 16 games the season and moved in to 4th place on the Terriers all-time rebound list.

DeBoer was named the Anaconda Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season after averaging 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in the Bison 1-1 week. DeBoer has scored in double-digits in nine of the 19 contests in which she has started, and continues to lead all Patriot League freshmen in both scoring (10.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg).

Honorable mention status went Bucknell senior guard Shelby Romine and American junior guard Jen Dumiak.

Anaconda Player of the Week

RASHIDAT AGBOOLA, BOSTON UNIV. Sr., F, 6-1; Methuen, Mass.

Agboola scored in double-digits in both games of Terriers 1-1 week. Netted 20 points in 61-59 road win over Lafayette and 19 in a 68-57 loss to first-place Navy. The senior forward has now scored in double-figures 16 times this season. Became the 4th player in program history to record at least 800 rebounds with her eight boards at Lafayette and also moved in to a tie for 16th place on the all-time scoring list with 1,078 career points. She is named Patriot League Anaconda Player of the Week for the first time this season.



Anaconda Rookie of the Week

CLAIRE DeBOER, BUCKNELL Fr., F, 6-1; Grosse Pointe, Mich.

DeBoer is named Patriot League Anaconda Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season and fifth in the last six weeks after helping the Bison split a pair of Patriot League contests. Contributed six points , four rebounds, a steal and an assist in a road loss to Lafayette on Wednesday and produced a well-rounded effort with 13 points, seven rebounds, one assist and a steal in Bucknell's come-from-behind win over Holy Cross at Sojka Pavilion.

Honorable Mention

SHELBY ROMINE, BUCKNELL Sr., G, 5-9; Centreville, Va.

Romine led the Bison in scoring in both games in a 1-1 week while continuing an 11-game double-digit scoring streak. Contributed 12 points and five rebounds in Wednesday's game at Lafayette while also handing out two assists. In Saturday's 82-79 win over Holy Cross, she registered her fifth double-double of the season and the sixth of her career, scoring a game-high 19 points and collecting a game-high 11 rebounds.

JEN DUMIAK, AMERICAN Jr., G, 5-10; Carlsbad, Calif.

Shot 63.6 percent from the floor for a game-high 18 points in American's win over Loyola (Md.), adding five assists and two rebounds. Registered 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with five assists and three rebounds to lead the Eagles to its third straight win at Colgate.
