Final NSCAA/Continental Tire Men's Soccer Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - 2013 Patriot League Men's Soccer Champion Navy was ranked 25th in the last Continental Tire Top 25 of the season released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Tuesday.

The Mids finished the season 16-4-2, became the first squad to post a 9-0-0 League record in the 10-team era and won a first-round game in the NCAA Tournament. Navy blanked VCU 3-0 on the road before falling 2-1 at No. 14 seed Wake Forest in the second round.

Navy picked up three major awards from the Patriot League at the end of the regular season. The head coaches voted sophomore Jamie Dubyoski the Offensive Player of the Year, while junior backliner Joseph Greenspan was named Defensive Player of the Year. Dave Brandt, in his fifth season on the Navy sidelines, was tabbed Coach of the Year.

This season marked Navy's first Patriot League title, which earned them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Mids made their first tip there since 1988.

Brandt and Greenspan were honored last week by the NSCAA. Greenspan was named a third-team All-America pick, while Brandt captured Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year honors. In addition on Tuesday, Greenspan was named a third-team All-America selection by College Soccer News alongside Army junior goalkeeper Winston Boldt.
