Center Valley, Pa. - Another year of Patriot League men's soccer is in the books, culminating with Colgate winning its second consecutive Patriot League title and earning its second straight NCAA Tournament berth. Three men's soccer student-athletes were named CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-Americans, while 11 student-athletes were named to NSCAA All-Region Teams. Army's A.J. Glubzinski was named to the Lowe's All-Senior All-America Team, and Colgate senior goalkeeper David Cappuccio ended his career with 23 shutouts, good for third all-time in the Patriot League.

Patriot League Men's Soccer CoSIDA Honorees
Colgate senior defender Daniel Kerley, Bucknell junior forward Chris Hennings and Lafayette junior defender Matthew Reichenbach were honored as CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-Americans. Kerley was named to the First Team, Hennings was a Second-Team selection and Reichenbach was a Third-Team pick.
Eleven Named To NSCAA All-Region Teams
Eleven Patriot League men's soccer student-athletes were named to their respective National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Mid-Atlantic Region Teams.
Holy Cross defender Jerry Dickinson and Colgate forward Alex Weekes were designated First-Team Mid-Atlantic Region members. Dickinson is the 2008 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, while Weekes is a Second-Team All-League pick who scored both goals in Colgate's 2-1 victory over Holy Cross to win their second-straight Patriot League title.
Six Patriot League student-athletes were awarded Second-Team Mid-Atlantic Region honorees. Colgate's David Cappuccio is the Second-Team goalkeeper, and is the 2008 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year. First-Team All-League defenders Alejandro Melean of Holy Cross and Glenn Volk of Colgate are also on the team. First-Team All-League midfielder Adam Gazda from Lehigh, 2008 Offensive Player of the Year Conor O'Brien of Bucknell and Lafayette forward B.J. Glenn round out the Patriot League representatives on the Second Team.
American's Cooper Bryant, Lehigh's Jim Taranto and Colgate's Chris Ross are all Third-Team Mid-Atlantic Region selections. Bryant, Taranto and Ross are all First-Team All-Patriot League selections as well.
Army's Glubzinski Named To Lowe's All-Senior All-America Team
Army senior goalkeeper A.J. Glubzinski, a finalist for the 2008 Men's Soccer Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, was named to the First-Team All-Senior All-American Team. The All-Senior All-America Team is based on the cumulative results of NCAA Division I coaches and national media and fan balloting for the award, which honors the attributes of senior student-athletes in the classroom and community, in character and in competition.

Colgate senior goalkeeper David Cappuccio ended his career with 23 shutouts, good for third all-time in Patriot League history.
Team Notebooks
American
The Eagles tied Holy Cross, 1-1, in the Patriot League semifinals, but the Crusaders advanced to the title match after advancing 5-3 on penalty kicks. Freshman goalkeeper Matt Makowski earned Rookie of the Year honors for an outstanding first-season campaign.
Army
Army won its first Patriot League game of the season, defeating archrival Navy, 1-0 in the annual Star game. The Black Knights finished their season 3-14-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the Patriot League. Senior goalkeeper A.J. Glubzinski earned Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors for his academic and athletic performance.
Bucknell
The Bison lost a double overtime heartbreaker, 3-2, to American in the regular season finale, eliminating them from postseason contention. Bucknell finished the year 8-8-3 overall and 3-4-0 in the Patriot League, and junior midfielder Conor O'Brien was named Offensive Player of the Year.
Colgate
The Raiders won their second-straight Patriot League title and NCAA Tournament berth by beating Holy Cross, 2-1, in the Championship game. Colgate lost its first round NCAA game, 2-0, to Boston College. Raider goalkeeper David Cappuccio ended his career with 23 shutouts, third all-time in the Patriot League.
Holy Cross
Holy Cross advanced 5-3 on penalty kicks to the Patriot League Championship game after tying American, 1-1, in the semifinals. The Crusaders lost the title game, 2-1. Senior Jerry Dickinson earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Lafayette
After securing its seventh-straight postseason berth, Lafayette fell to Colgate, 2-0, in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals. Sophomore B.J. Glenn earned NSCAA All-Region honors, while sophomore Stephen Macurdy was an All-League honoree.
Lehigh
The Mountain Hawks were eliminated from postseason contention with a 2-0 loss to Colgate in the final regular season game. Lehigh finished the season 7-7-3 overall and 2-3-2 in Patriot League play. Three Mountain Hawks earned All-League awards this season.
Navy
The Mids lost their last game of the season to archrival Army, 1-0 in the annual Star game. Navy finished its season 4-11-3 and 0-6-1 in Patriot League play. Head Coach Rich Miranda resigned shortly after the end of the season.
