Bucknell's Nash Named NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year
Dec. 15, 2009 Center Valley, Pa.--Bucknell's Brendan Nash, the 2009 Patriot League Men's Soccer Coach of the Year, has been named the Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year by the NSCAA and is a finalist for National Coach of the Year honors. In November, Nash was named Patriot League Coach of the Year for the third time in his career. He also won the award in 2000 and 2003. Earlier in the season he became the second coach in program history to record 100 wins. Nash guided Bucknell to the regular-season title, despite being picked fifth in the preseason poll. Bucknell went 5-2 in conference play to secure its third outright Patriot League regular-season title. Under Nash's guidance in 2009, Bucknell broke school and Patriot League records for wins (17) and shutouts (12). Bucknell won the Patriot League Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, falling to eventual national champion Virginia.
